Book of the Dead of Isiuret |
Fragment of the Book of the Dead of Isiuret
It is a fragment of the Book of the Dead in a fairly complete version .
The papyrus is divided into seven frames from when Ernesto Schiaparelli studied it that divided 6 boards on the margins of which he noted the present chapters: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XV, XVII, XVIII, XXI, XXVIII, XXX and a seventh table picked up the fragments that it was impossible to replace.
The papyrus belonged to a woman named Isiuret. In the scene in the lower register one distinguishes the deceased sitting with her husband while a priest offers them libations and perfumes: in the upper register the birth of the sun greeted by the goddesses Isis and Nephthys in the form of kites and hamadryads can be seen.
