Coffin of Tesbastetperet
The lid of the coffin of the "mistress of the house" Tesbastetperet presents the deceased with a broad tripartite wig surmounted by a vulture with outstretched wings. The breast is decorated with a large necklace below which the goddess Nut is represented with outstretched wings in the act of protection; under the goddess two scenes from the Book of the Dead are seen: the traditional scene of psychostasy and to follow the mummy on her deathbed. In the representation of Psychostasy, besides the balance with Ammut (the Devourer), the deceased is accompanied by the god Thot in front of the judges. In the scene below, the mummy is lying on her deathbed under which four canopic jars are depicted, while Anubis, assisted by the goddesses Isis and Nephthys, carries out the mummification holding a pot of incense; the scene is completed by the representation of the ba flying over the mummy. The bottom of the lid is mostly covered with inscriptions and the fetish of Abydos is represented in the centre. The area of the feet is occupied by the winged goddess Isis and by the ugiat-eyes with an apotropaic value. Under the base of the feet the Apis bull is portrayed carrying the mummy of the deceased on his back.
The cursive hieroglyphics, that in black stand on a yellow background both on the front of the lid and also on the bottom of the lower valve, contain offering formulas and extracts from funeral texts.
The inside lid is occupied by the representation of the goddess Nut, while on the inside of the lower valve the goddess Imenetet is represented, the personification of the West.
