Ushabti of Tjahorpata

A mummiform statuette with a tripartite wig, a false beard and agricultural implements. Equipped with a small base and a back pillar, it is surrounded by an inscription which takes place on nine registers. This statuette is particularly striking because of the accurate rendering of the details, the features and extremely small incision of the hieroglyphs. The Schlögl in their study indicate a further 4 statuettes of this personage in the Diakonienmuseum Kaiserwerth Borély and the Museum of Marseilles and are of the same manufacture. Also they approach other different personages but of similar appearance that assume a single production plant. The person is known, an official of Nectanebo II. A beautiful sarcophagus comes from his tomb in Saqqara and is preserved in the Cairo Museum.
