Fragment of a ritual vase |
Fragment of a ritual vase
The fragment was part of a vase with a globular body and with the shoulders decorated with tubular handles, whose form is typical of the Thinite Period. It has inscriptions on the body that were made at a later period after the production of the vase; during the XXV Dynasty.
Under the loop one distinguishes a horizontal line of an inscription: "The perfect god, Nimlot, justified." Then there are four cartouches surmounted by two feathers, engraved on the body:
"The divine adorer Shepenupet. The daughter of the king Osorkon" and "The Hand of God Amenardis. The daughter of king Kashta”.
On the edge of the vase the initial part of an inscription is preserved which reads: "To say the words by the Osiris Diefhetepu [... ... ...]”.
