Statue of Harsiesi
The torso belonged to a statue of a man portrayed in a standing position, with a short and smooth wig. The oval face is characterized by elongated eyes, once made of glass paste. The sculpture was equipped with a back pillar with a rounded top and decorated with an incised inscription in hieroglyphics; the text, now fragmented, reads:
1 - "the noble, the prince, the great general, Harsiesi. He says, "Oh [... ...]
2 - he presents an offering by your hand. The roads are ahead of you. One is ahead of the children [... ..]
3 - for you at all times. Stretch out the hand to me with holy water, incense and [... ..] in our time for eternity. "
This text shows graphics typical of the Saitic Period, but certain features of the statue, like the eyes, made with the inlay technique, suggest a later dating.
