Male head
The head was part of a full-length statue of a man portrayed with a long wig to the shoulders and that leaves the ears uncovered. The wig is rather elaborate: it is made with a double row of locks, the squared ones that frame the face and the smooth outer ones, and is decorated with a braid that falls from the right temple. The statue was equipped with a back pillar of which the end under the wig is preserved; on the pillar remains a trace of the beginning of an inscription, in particular the beginning of the title "noble."
The type of wig worn by the man, in particular the braid, defines it as a member of the Memphite clergy of the god Ptah, an element that may indicate that the piece comes from the Memphis area.
