Canopic jar of Pasheri-en-aset

Canopic jar of Pasheri-en-aset
The vase, tapering towards the base, has a lid which is not relevant because in the engraved inscription on the vase the human - head tutelar genius Imset is mentioned, while the lid has the head of a baboon and therefore represents the tutelar genius Hapi. On the body of the vase four columns of hieroglyphics, filled in a box; are engraved: the text contains, in addition to the name of the deceased accompanied by a matronymic, a formula of protection for the contents of the jar, identified with the god Imset.

“1 - Words said by Isis: I destroy the enemy and give

2 – the protection to protect Imset who is in

3 – me. The protection of the Osiris, prophet of Imen, priest ur-a, priest of Selkis, Pasheri-en-aset

4 - conceived by Mutirdies. The protection of Imset. The Osiris Pasheri-en-aset is Imset.”

The hieroglyphs are carved with care and filled with black
