Vase (n.cat. 74524)

Vase

A vase with an ellipsoidal body and an everted rim and two small loop handles on the shoulder. A flat base. This is not a particularly valuable stone but certainly appreciated for its natural colour. On these soft stones the setting up skill was easily practised in the working of hard stones such as granite and breccia. The handles, similar to those of ceramic production, can picture the use of inserting lines of suspension even in stone vessels.
