Bust of male statue

Bust of male statue

The bust shows a clear diagonal break from the right shoulder to the left armpit; it probably belonged to a full-length statue, although it is not possible to determine whether it was seated or standing. The man wears a wig that falls to the shoulders and leaves large ears uncovered: typical of the statuary of the Middle Kingdom. The locks of hair are rendered with incised parallel lines. The almond-shaped eyes are underlined by the line of the make-up in low relief and are framed at the top by the eyebrows, which are also slightly raised. The sculpture has no back pillar.
