25 ushabti of Shemuherkeheb

25 ushabti of Shemuherkeheb

25 mummiform ushabti statuettes or "the respondent" in the sixth chapter of the Book of the Dead, which goes around the body in 8 lines and refers to the possibility of these figurines to become animated and respond to the deceased who he evokes to help him in the hard work that also in the afterlife requires the work of the fields. The formula contains the name of the deceased Shemuherkeheb, the son of Heririaa. The workmanship is very precise in the rendering of the facial features that appear to be smiling, the tripartite wig and false beard. In the crossed hands on his chest are clearly distinguishable two types of hoe and the rope that goes over the left shoulder where we find the bag of seeds.
