Wooden statue of Anubis

Wooden statue of Anubis

This wooden statue depicts Anubis in its canid aspect and serving as the guardian of the necropolis. The statue had to be in a tabernacle as the wooden pin under the belly shows. The sculpture consists of two parts: the head and the body connected by a pin. The details like the rimmed eyes, the eyebrows, the mouth and the streaks of the ears are made with a yellow colour.
