Ushabti of Imenhotep

Ushabti of Imenhotep

Ushabti figurines, or "respondent" in the sixth chapter of the Book of the Dead, which refers to the possibility of these figurines to become animated and respond to the deceased who he evokes to help him in the hard work that also in the afterlife requires the work of the fields.
The extended formula is not shown but is the short version that indicates the deceased that "shines" like Osiris and evokes the name clearly visible as Imenhotep. The ushabti is shown as a mummiform with tripartite wig made with black, the same colour as the hieroglyphics with the inscription that runs vertically on the legs of the statue. Instead, the face, the hands, the agricultural tools and the stripes that resemble bandages are in red.  The wide usekh necklace is coloured red and blue.
